How to Kill Blue Shark in How to Fish

The shark rotates and charges in a spiral pattern, and it almost always lands the hit at close range. Like other assault-type bosses it is rigid after a failed charge — the window is after the charge, not before.

The fight is won by never letting it get close. Upgraded bullets drop the health bar far faster and buy margin against the white patience bar.

Upgrade your bullets before summoning — the white patience bar drains far faster with basic ammo. A shotgun is very effective here.

• Summon on open ground with room to widen the circle.
• Keep expanding the width of your movement so the spiral charge never connects.
• Output shotgun damage continuously from outside its reach.
• Force the kill before the white patience bar empties.

Talk to the NPC beside the grill and hand the shark over to get the lighter (proof of battle effectiveness). This unlocks the Grill — cook fish at 1.5x price.

Every documented failure of this fight is a distance failure. The shark almost always lands its charge at close range, so if you are getting hit, the fix is widening the circle earlier — not shooting faster. Two secondary checks: upgraded bullets shorten the fight and therefore spare the white patience bar, and if the boss fled mid-fight the bar emptied (standing too far, or time lost between engagements) — the lure is spent and you will need another Standard Boss Lure.

💡 Killed it but the Grill did not unlock? The hand-in with the NPC beside the grill is the unlock, not the kill itself.
